Keeping my hair long and healthy has been my passion since childhood and I am fortunate to have managed to do so. Well, I cannot take full credit for my thick and long hair! To some extent, my good genes are also responsible for this, while a lot of credit also goes to my mother who took special care of my hair from childhood till the whole school life. From oiling 2-3 times a week to hair packs and braiding, my mother used to pay a lot of attention to my hair. It can help in quickly hair growth.
But for some time due to college and then work life, I am not able to pay special attention to my hair. During this time I faced the biggest problem with my long hair, that was the hairstyle, I could not understand what to do with my hair everyday which was made in less time and looked stylish too. In such a situation, I figured out a very easy way and that was to tie the hair in a bun. Be it office or party, shopping or wedding, be it any occasion, I was seen in only one hairstyle and that was hair bun.
Sometimes messy, sometimes sleek, sometimes a top knot and sometimes a side bun – except for a few basic changes, my hairstyle was the same about 365 days a year. The biggest reason behind doing this was to look very stylish in less time and less effort. But for some time I started seeing a lot of problems related to my hair, due to which this bun was also there.
Receding hairline
Due to continuous pulling of hair and tying the bun, my hair line started decreasing and my forehead i.e. forehead started widening. Pulling the hair from front to back puts the most stress on the hairline and causes breakage, causing the hairline to move backwards day by day.
Hair loss
Not only the hairline, while creating a bun, the hair on both sides is pulled and gathered at one place, which puts a lot of pressure on the roots and increases the problem of hair fall. Apart from this, while making a bun, instead of combing the entire hair, we comb only the hair of the crown area, due to which the hair below gets tangled and breaks. You have to use shampoo for hair to control hair loss.
Fungal infection
For those who always tie a bun, it is very difficult to keep the hair open even for a short time. In such a situation, she is not deterred from tying lightly wet hair after shampoo or sweaty hair after workout. In such a situation, not only does the hair smell bad, but the chances of fungal infection in the scalp also increase.
Breakage
By always keeping the hair tied in a bun, not only does it become weak from the root, but the strands of the hair also start weakening from the middle. In such a situation, the hair starts breaking from the middle and their natural shine also starts decreasing.
Oily scalp
When the hair is pulled from the roots by tying the hair in a continuous bun, the secretion of oil in the scalp increases, causing the crown area of the head to become oilier than the rest. Hence frequent shampooing is required. Over shampooing, where the oil is being controlled in the crown area, but at the same time the hair tips become dry and frizzy.
It took me a long time to understand the extent to which I was torturing my hair and damaging it to save some time. However, now I have corrected my mistake and reduced to tying the bun. If you do most of the buns like me, then rectify your mistake in time.
